Clinical Supervision is the Cornerstone of Clinicians’ Effectiveness and Growth

I offer individualized clinical supervision and consultation for people seeking to work one-on-one as well as organizations seeking an experienced clinical supervisor for individual or group supervision.

“I've had the pleasure of working with Gabriela as a colleague through partner organization collaboration, collective advocacy efforts, and as a clinical mentor and social work supervisor. I was drawn to Gabriela's content knowledge around harm reduction and substance use, domestic violence, and trauma-conscious mental health services.

Getting to know Gabriela, I quickly learned how experienced, patient, wise, flexible, caring, and value-driven they also are. During our work together, they cultivated a welcoming, non-judgmental, bidirectional learning experience that I continue to appreciate today. Working with Gabriela, I often felt deeply supported while also being meaningfully challenged. I'm so grateful for the opportunity I had to work with and learn from Gabriela, and I cannot recommend them enough!”

Clinical Supervision Approach

My approach is relational and based on an understanding of the clinician, their strengths, their goals, and how they best learn and receive feedback.

For those seeking clinical supervision towards licensure, I have 10+ years of experience supporting Master’s level social workers and counselors to successfully prepare for and earn their clinical licensure, including guidance around qualifying for and passing the exam.

I use a combination of direct communication, role play, demonstration, and modeling, leveraging the parallel process to support clinicians in growing into a more grounded, authentic, confident, and skillful version of themselves as helping professionals.

My clinical supervision is rooted in my expertise in trauma, culture, and equity.

While you will learn and apply social work theory and ethics throughout our time together, I will also challenge you to unlearn concepts and perspectives that are harmful for the communities you serve. What you unlearn will be as important as what you learn during our time together.

Clinical Supervision

For organizations seeking a clinical supervisor:

I have had the honor of providing this support for many organizations over the past 10+ years and bring a wealth of experience supporting staff growth. As a social work leader, I can also support staff both clinically and administratively, helping them to develop the clinical and leadership skills they need to fulfill the organization’s mission.

Consultation

For clinicians seeking a one-time consultation:

I know the value of being able to talk through different situations and get feedback from someone who is experienced and a good listener. We all need that clinical consultation sometimes. If you’re feeling stuck or worried about someone you’re working with, I’m here to help you look at the situation with a fresh perspective and come away with renewed ideas and energy.
